Can I track my ferry?
Absolutely! We are very proud of our tracking capabilities and offer it to all of our customers whether they have purchased a ticket or not!
If you have downloaded our mobile app you will even get notified with the real estimated time of arrivals to the port of pickup, and to your destination.
In case of a ferry delay we always advise you to make your way to the port on the scheduled departure time as sometimes ferries will speed up to make up for lost time.

Are tickets cheaper if I book earlier?
Yes! Ferry companies release early booking tickets in advance which are offered at lower rates than usual.
Remember though, early booking tickets like Super Economy and Special Economy most of the time have different cancellation policies. Most of the time, they are non-refundable and non-amendable. With Openferry we do our best to update the ticket policies so you are able to know when a ticket you are considering to buy is non-refundable.

Can I travel with my pet?
Most ferry companies allow pets to travel on-board depending on the size of the ferry, the facilities on-board, and the size of your pet.
Some ferry companies will charge for pets, and depending on the region that you are traveling some companies will ask for your pet's documents to be attached to a pet ticket. Depending on the ferry and the size of your pet, there will be designated areas on the deck of the ferry or pet kennels for your pet to travel safely.
Depending on the ferry company, the available pet options will appear when selecting your tickets. There are 3 possibilities:
- The ferry company does not accept pets
- The ferry company accepts pets without the need to issue a ticket
- The ferry company accepts pets but requires a ticket to be issued
For more detailed instructions on how to add pets to your booking, check out this guide. For your convenience Openferry will save your pet details if you have created an account so that you don't need to enter the information every time.

Why do I need to fill in my gender/sex?
Ferry companies booking systems ask for sex information and unfortunately there are currently only two supported options (male and female).
This information is especially important when shared cabins are booked to make sure that there is no mix between the two options.
